IThis is the best investment we made for our tiny home. Our home is a sailboat, so you know what that means. Yes, they have stinky heads on all boats. Well since we were not fans of the odor coming from smelling black water tank my hubby suggested a composting toilet. At first, I was like you want a what? A compost toilet what is that? Well turned out to be awesome and so easy to take care of. A compost toilet is portable, self-contained, urine separating dry toilet. Meaning there are two separate sections for #1 and #2.
The natures head is perfect for any tiny home, boat, and RV or any off grid home. The unit is self-contained with sections, so it has no foul odors. There is also a low voltage fan that is built into the unit that also helps compost and circulate the air. It is very rugged and made with all stainless hardware. This product was designed by two long time sailors who knew what would work best on boats or small spaces. I bet your thinking its hard to take care of well you are wrong. I purchased an extra tank for urine, so I only have to empty it once a week. The #2 area is also easy to take care of as well. I change out the compost every two to three months depending on how much use it gets. You will know its time when it is hard to crank the handle any longer. Most of the time it is two adults using it but not daily since we are able to use the marina bathroom too. To take care of the compost I just open the unit and take the urine container out and take to the nearest rest room to dump super simple. As far as the compost section that is simple to just open unit after removing the vent hose, urine container and just dump into a composting bag or a garbage bag. We then only clean off the crank handle because I don’t want to disturb the natural compost in the bin. Once clean I then fill it with Nature’s coconut coir which comes from 100 percent natural byproduct of harvesting coconut. That’s it so simple to take care of. I also added a portable potty just in case you didn't have time to empty your tank. If you are tired of the smelly odors from you head, then this product is for you. It is the best addition we ever made to Sv Iron Maiden.
